Dr. Verona Sulja
Welcome to Electric City Dental! I'm Verona Sulja, a passionate dentist with over three decades of experience. Graduating from Western University in 1993, I've dedicated many wonderful years to practicing dentistry and nurturing lasting relationships with my patients.
Alongside my partner Koren Bennetts, with whom I've had the privilege of working with for over 15 years, we've built a practice centered on trust, compassion, and excellence in dental care. Now, our team has been enriched by the addition of my daughter, Jenna, who brings a fresh perspective and dedication to our craft.
At Electric City Dental, we're proud of our loyal staff, some of whom have been with us for decades, ensuring a warm and familiar atmosphere for our patients. Our office boasts cutting-edge technology, allowing us to provide the highest standard of care while maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment for all.
Outside of dentistry, I find joy in spending time with my family. I'm happily married to Jurgen, also a dentist, and together we cherish our children, Jenna and Matthew. When I'm not in the office, you can often find me on the golf course, exploring new destinations, or unwinding at our cottage.

Dr. Koren Bennetts
Hello I’m Dr. Koren Bennetts! Originally from North Bay, Ontario, I’ve been proudly serving the Peterborough community since 2009. I completed my undergraduate studies at Queen’s University and earned my dental degree from the University of Toronto in 2006. After beginning my career in Trenton, I moved to Peterborough in 2009, where I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Verona Sulja. Together we founded Electric City Dental in 2017, creating a practice known for its patient-centred approach and commitment to high-quality dental care.
I am passionate about building lasting relationships with our patients and ensuring they feel comfortable and confident in their dental health.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my husband Shawn, an engineer at BWXT, and our three sons, Hunter, Jackson, and Griffin. I love the outdoors, travelling, and I am an avid fan of all things Disney! Here at Electric City Dental, we pride ourselves on bringing a blend of professional excellence and personal warmth to our practice.
Dr. Jenna Vander Velden
My name is Jenna Vander Velden, a 2022 graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in dentistry. Following in the footsteps of my parents, both of whom are dentists, I have joined my mother Verona in practice at Electric City Dental. Being part of this family-run dental office founded by Koren and Verona has been incredibly rewarding. I feel very lucky that I get to work alongside both of these passionate dentists with an amazing team by our side.
I am married to Brett, an elementary school teacher, and together we are active members of the Peterborough community. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, golfing and spending quality time with friends and family. I look forward to many years of providing exceptional dental care to our community and making lasting connections with our patients.
